JAMES J. GARVEY UNDERGRADUATE ENGLISH LANGUAGE SCHOLARSHIP

1) Full-time undergraduate in Liberal Arts 2) Maintain 3.3 GPA in related courses 3) Demonstrated financial need 4) Demonstrate commitment to community or advocacy service on a CSU campus/in a CSU program or activity 5) Taken at least six credit hrs in English Language, i.e., a declared language concentration, teaching licensure concentration, or the following courses or their equivalent: a. Introduction to the Study of Language; b. English Language for Teachers I and/or II; c. Teaching English as a Second Language; and d. Development of the English Language 6) Primary consideration to first generation students as defined by the University (applicants must submit a brief essay addressing commitment to community or advocacy service and a letter of recommendation from an English faculty member in one of the concentrations or courses listed in #5 above)
