GREGORY L. FLORANT MENTORING FELLOWSHIP
1) Full-time undergraduate student who has completed their sophomore year, and is pursuing a major in the Departments of Biology; Biochemistry & Molecular Biology; Chemistry; Computer Science; Physics; Mathematics; or Microbiology, Immunology, & Pathology OR full or part-time graduate student pursuing a degree in same majors as undergraduate requirement 2) Conducting research in a lab with a tenure-track faculty member in the College of Natural Sciences at Colorado State University 3) Be a member of a traditionally underrepresented group within the chosen major (undergraduate) or discipline (graduate) 4) Maintain a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA 5) Preference shall be given to students with a degree program in the Department of Biology 6) Preference shall be given to students who demonstrate compassion in helping to build and/or provide mentorship in underserved communities, which may include but is not limited to, volunteering at a Food Bank or participation in student organizations such as El Centro, the Black/African American Cultural Center (B/AACC), Native American Cultural Center (NACC), etc. (Each fellowship may be renewable if the recipients(s) reapplies annually, continues to meet all criteria and is chosen by the selection committee)
