1) Masters or Ph.D. candidate working on fresh-H2O Copepoda research 2) If no candidate in that area of research, may be given to a graduate student studying limnology of an inland lentic environment 3) If no candidate in either of these areas of research, may be given to a graduate student studying the biology of any species of freshwater invertebrate animal of lentic, lotice, or groundwater environment 4) US/Canadian/European student 5) Financial need – preference to student not currently receiving any financial assistance (e.g., TA or fellowship) – students receiving other assistance are eligible, but award cannot be given to a graduate student who has all of his/her tuition and fees fully supported (Renewable: 2-years for a masters candidate; 4-years for a Ph.D. candidate) (Please note, interdisciplinary students (GDPE & CMB) may be eligible if the primary adviser is a faculty member within the Department of Biology in the College of Natural Sciences)
