- Supplemental Questions
- Being a Puksta Scholar is more than just receiving a scholarship, you will become part of a community, and you will be asked to address a social issue. During your time as a Puksta Scholar, you will be mentored along a path to turn your ideas into action. Please tell us about a social or environmental issue that you are passionate about? If you had unlimited resources (people, supplies, money) at your disposal, how do you think you would go about addressing it?
- To be successful and genuine in the work we do in the community, it is important to be able share our own personal stories. Tell us a story that explains your motivation for participating in your community. What is your personal connection to the social issue? *This is meant to be reflective of your personal story and background, not a summary of your activities in the community or awards.
- Puksta Scholars are the heart and soul of our program and as a result we are a very close-knit community. This scholarship is one of the few that does not focus on individual accomplishments and achievements. If you were to be a Puksta Scholar, how would you contribute to the overall well-being of the Puksta community?
- The Puksta Scholars Program is an inclusive and intentionally diverse community where all stories and voices are valued. Please describe one experience where you worked with people, groups, or organizations that were comprised of social identities different from you? What did you learn? How did your experience differ from what you expected?
- What are your academic interests? How might your participation in the Puksta Scholars Program enhance your academic and even professional interests and how might your skills from your academic interests enhance your Puksta Scholar work?
- Have you been a resident of the City of Denver for at least three years while in high school OR attended a Denver high school for at least three years?
