Overview
The application packet must be complete and include the information below. All transcripts, letters of recommendation and other required documents, must be received by the State Scholarship’s State Chair by the January 31st deadline.
The application packet may be emailed or mailed.
Photographs will not be accepted and should not be included in the application package.
Scholarships are judged and awarded without regard to gender, race, color, religion, national origin or disability.
The application packet is not to exceed 15 pages (front and back is counted as one page). The packet should include the following:
– Letter from sponsoring DAR Chapter (contact the State Scholarship State Chair with questions)
– State Scholarship Application Form
– Financial Need Form
– Statement of 1,000 words or less setting forth the applicants’ career objectives (typed)
– Transcript of high school or college grades (as applicable).
– Proof of enrollment in appropriate degree program.
– List of extra-curricular activities, honors received and scholastic achievements.
– Letters of recommendation (minimum of two but not more than four from high school or college or employers who are familiar with the applicant’s work). Letter should cover applicant’s ability, work habits, integrity, character, potential.
– Photocopy/image of birth certificate or naturalization papers.
