Latin American Educational Foundation Scholarship/LAEF
*Colorado resident-determined by having a permanent address in Colorado
*Hispanic heritage and/or actively involved in the Hispanic community
Scholarship recipients are required to fulfill 10 hours of community service during year of funding at your college/university. Service provided at/for LAEF will qualify to satisfy this requirement and is strongly encouraged.
*Accepted to an accredited college, university, or vocational school
Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students.
*Minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION MATERIALS:

2 Letters of Recommendation (recommender will upload online):
One from an educator (teacher, professor, advisor or administrator);
One from a community service organization, employer, coach, mentor, etc.;
Current High School or College Transcript;
One of the following (your most recent):
Federal Income Tax Return OR

2-3 paycheck stubs;
One of the following (high school applicants only):
ACT Score Report OR
SAT Score Report;
List of Extracurricular Activities;
Scholarship Essay 1:
Describe how your Hispanic heritage has influenced your life and shaped who you are. Discuss your involvement in the Hispanic Community (volunteerism, extracurricular activities, community service) and describe how and why this is meaningful for you and your community;
Scholarship Essay 2:
What has motivated you to pursue higher education? Describe your leadership experiences and your leadership potential, and talk about the challenges you have overcome and how they have affected your development. Tell us about your life interests and career and academic goals and how you anticipate achieving those goals.
