1) Undergrad/grad enrolled in a degree program in the sciences 2) Provide proof of native ancestry such as, but not limited to; Certificate of Indian blood, Record of parent, grandparent or great grandparent enrolled with tribe, documentation of participation in extracurricular or community activities with tribal affiliation (dance, tribal costume, volunteer work, reservation high school) or letter from tribe documenting family affiliation 3) Demonstrate strong academic performance 4) Demonstrated Financial need

  1. Please provide a letter of application requesting this scholarship (500 words or fewer). Your statement must speak to the scholarship's value to you.
  2. In order to be considered for this scholarship, you must provide official documentation of Tribal Affiliation. If you are a previous awardee of this scholarship and have already provided documentation, you do not need to re-upload at this time. All new applicants are required to provide this official documentation with their application. Alternatively, you may submit a letter of support from a tribal official stating you are a participating/ contributing member of your tribal community.
  3. For first time applicants, a letter of recommendation is strongly encouraged and highly valuable. This letter of recommendation should be written by someone other than a friend or family member who can speak to your qualifications relevant to this scholarship. If you choose to submit a letter of recommendation, please provide contact information for your reference to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf. Letter must be submitted no later than the official deadline of March 1, 11:00 p.m. (MST) and it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the letter is uploaded by this deadline. Be advised to give your letter writer sufficient time to write and upload a letter.
